Leopards are one of the most astonishing animals to exist on Earth. Not only do they live in extremely cold and harsh weather conditions but also are an indicator of good health of the cold mountain ecosystem as they are one of the top animals in the food chain.
India is home to 10% of global Snow Leopard population, which is spread across the Himalayan states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Snow Leopards can be seen in Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary (Himachal Pradesh), Ulley Valley (Ladakh), and Hemis National Park (Himachal Pradesh).
