India is one of the world’s largest economies and it exports and imports many commodities and services and contributes significantly to the world trade. In 2019, India was the world’s biggest importer of Coal Briquettes, Diamonds, Palm Oil, Nitrogenous Fertilizers and Soyabean Oil.
In November 2021, there was an increase in India’s year-by-year imports, primarily due to an increase in imports from China ($2.74B or 51.8%), Iraq ($2.3B or 228%), and Saudi Arabia ($2.17B or 160%), and product imports increase in Petroleum: Crude ($6.12B or 136%), Petroleum Products ($2.16B or 123%), and Coal, Coke And Briquettes Etc. ($2.07B or 137%).
