Glacial landforms – IAS Synopsis
Glacial landforms, just like their name suggests, are landforms created through action of glaciers. These landforms can be formed due to erosional activity or depositional activity of glaciers. Lakes and ponds may also be caused by glacial movement.
Striations, cirques, glacial horns, arêtes, trim lines, U-shaped valleys, roches moutonnées, overdeepenings and hanging valleys are some of the landforms formed due to erosional activity of glaciers.
